roam burgers: corte madera

project details

Roam Artisan Burgers is one of San Francisco’s favorite restaurants, known for burgers made with organic produce and humanely raised proteins. The brand stands for sustainability, community, and positive environmental impact.

This remodel transformed a quirky space with a dated kitchen and a dark dining room. The dining area had only one exterior wall, so we opened it up with large panes of glass to bring in light.

At the facade, we introduced our modern take on a traditional ice cream shack to balance the new glazing. This compact volume lets Roam serve mall visitors directly with soft-serve, shakes, and their full menu. Outdoor seating and a communal firepit invite people to linger, taking advantage of Marin County’s mild climate.

Inside, the design reflects Roam’s grounded values. The palette includes natural plaster walls, leather banquettes, stone countertops, and hickory accents. Locally made tiles define the bar. Every element was placed with care, matching the precision behind Roam’s offerings.
